Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter. We were overwhelmed by 87 submissions to our EGOS sub-theme this year on Shaping Desirable Futures – Imagining (Real) Utopias.
The future is now. Like us, many of you are excited by engaging with futures, normativity, real utopias, re-thinking the role of organizations. For us, this is an exploratory adventure and we do not see the coast (yet). Hence, we are deeply grateful to go on this journey with you.
We are happy to announce that a joint PDW of the SWG06 Communication, Performativity, and Organization and SWG10 Organizing Desirable Futures will take place at EGOS 2023. The PDW 03: Societal Grand Challenges, Communication, and Performativity, convened by Hannah Trittin-Ulbrich, Amanda Williams & Milena Leybold, will take place on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 09:00 to 13:00.
Related to our topic, some of you may be interested in the upcoming deadline for the 2023 ONE-SIM Outreach Award. This award honors researchers who have excelled at disseminating their research on sustainability topics to non-academic audiences. The deadline for applications is on April 30. The award website features videos in which prior finalists share tips of outreach activities.
